Water Depth Mapping (Elevation)

This service calculates the water depth in areas around given locations. This service allows the elevation data to be supplied.

Given locations of interest, the algorithm is run using Sentinel-2 and a DEM to return images with values that represent water depth. The images are provided as a GeoTIFF file with band 1 containing the estimated water depths, band 2 a quality indicator (a value of 0 indicates that the water depth at the pixel could not be calculated, 1 indicates the value was calculated and 2 indicates that water was present at the location but that only a minimum depth could be assumed), band 3 the difference between the current estimate and the last (negative values indicate water depths are dropping) when a last estimate was available, band 4 the smoothed change in water depth and band 5 the associated elevation data. Additionally a GeoJSON and CSV file are generated with the minimum, mean and maximum water depth.
