Precipitation Data from NASA's GPM

This service provides a precipitation map from NASA's Global Precipitation Measurement mission (GPM) for your specified area of interest.

NASA GPM data products provide global precipitation data at a resolution of 0.1 degree x 0.1 degree (~11kmx11km). You must provide an area of interest and then a start date and optional end date. Note that NASA GPM data is available from 2002-01-01 onwards. For every day from the start to the end (inclusive), the imagery is output as a series of GeoTIFF files with the first output directory containing GeoTIFFs with 48 bands of 30min precipitation data (in mm/hour) while the second output directory contains GeoTiffs with a single band representing the daily precipitation (in mm/day). All GeoTIFF files will have the same geographic projection and resolution. Further information about NASA GPM can be accessed via here.
