Solar Potential

This service calculates the potential solar energy that can be captured by solar panels placed in the area of interest.

Given an area of interest, an assessment is made to find the most suitable areas to place solar panels and to calculate their expected return. This data is then output as a raster image with solar potential (given in kWh/year), as well as a GeoJSON containing areas suitable for a solar installation and annotated with statistics related to the cost and predicted energy production. Preview files are also produced.
