ISRIC SoilGrids

This service provides SoilGrids products from ISRIC — World Soil Information.

SoilGrids data products provide global soil bulk density, clay content, nitrogen content, sand content, silt content, soil organic carbon content, soil organic carbon stock and organic carbon densities data at a resolution of 250m by 250m. You must provide an area of interest. For each product the imagery is output for the mean quantile at a series of standard depths in separate GeoTIFF files. Band 1 represents the mean, band 2 represents the associated uncertainty, band 3 the 0.05 quantile value, band 4 the 0.95 quantile value and band 5 the estimated standard deviation (assuming a normal distribution). The uncertainty is the ratio between the inter-quantile range (90% confidence interval width) and the median, scaled by 10. Additionally the area of interest is returned as a GeoJSON annotated with the most recent WoSIS soil sample dates within the allowed distance to each feature. If a feature has no samples within in it, then the closest sample date is used. The area to search for WoSIS samples is defined by the WoSIS distance option. Further information can be found at here.
