Tree Carbon (Biomass)

Calculates carbon mass using an Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Tier 1 algorithm combined with remotely sensed estimates of above-ground forest biomass, providing 10m resolution maps and related data over the specified area of interest.

Given an area of interest and a year, the amount of carbon in detected trees is estimated. The amount of carbon is estimated using available figures on biomass and carbon parameters provided by the IPCC. This is then output as a raster in GeoTIFF format with the tonnes of carbon per pixel. Additionally a GeoJSON file with the total estimated carbon for each feature is provided together with a CSV summary.
