NASA POWER Solar and Meteorological Data

This service provides data products from NASA’s Prediction of Worldwide Energy Resources (POWER) project for your specified region of interest.

NASA Power data provides global solar and meteorological data. You must provide a region of interest and then a start date and optional end date. Note that NASA Power data is available from 2013-01-01 onwards. For every day from the start to the end (inclusive), variations in solar radiation, temperature (minimum, average, maximum) and wind speed (minimum, average, maximum) are then output. Data is output as a single CSV file containing the data for all required dates per row. Further information about NASA Power and its data products can be accessed via here.

Detecting Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Monitoring the occurrence and volume of methane leaks

Reducing methane emissions is imperative in the fight against climate change. Methane is a potent greenhouse gas with around 80 times more warming capacity than carbon dioxide, meaning that a large reduction in emissions would result in a significant step towards climate goals and a liveable future. D-CAT has developed algorithms using existing remote sensing sources to detect methane emissions, map plumes and estimate emission volumes across the globe.
